Samuel L. Jackson played Jedi Master Mace Windu in all three movies of the prequel trilogy. It is widely rumoured that Jackson requested that his lightsaber have the engraving of "B.M.F" for "Bad Mother Fucker", alluding to his character's famous wallet scene from the movie Pulp Fiction. Before the Battle of Geonosis was started to be filmed, the actor asked director George Lucas what colours there were for lightsabers. Lucas told him and blue and green for the good and red for evil. Then Jackson asked if there was purple. Lucas only answered: "You will get purple", so Mace Windu became the only character in the movies not to have green, blue or a red lightsaber. In a strict range of fans, it is believed that this colour is the symbol of diplomacy, which is untrue, considering that fellow Jedi Coleman Trebor also had diplomatic views and had a green-coloured lightsaber.
Before the release of Revenge of the Sith, Jackson in an interview said that his death scene would not have him "going out like a punk", which many fans have seen now.
