Gamorreans were porcine humanoids from the planet Gamorr that averaged about 1.8 meters in height and often weighed more than 100 kilograms. They were quite strong, and were generally considered less intelligent than the norm. On their home planet Gamorreans existed in a sort of tribal political system dominated by the females, sows. The Gamorreans' entire year was centered around war with other tribes. Males would train in the spring, fight to the death all through the summer, and heal their wounds in the fall and winter, only to start again the next season. One of their favorite weapons was the arg'garok.

As a result of their physical characteristics and low intelligence, Gamorreans away from their home planet were usually employed as mercenary fighters, guards, or heavy labourers. For example, the crime boss Jabba the Hutt was fond of hiring them because they were so inexpensive. One notable exception to this was the Wraith Squadron pilot Voort SaBring, who was biochemically altered by the BinRing Corporation to bring his attention span and intelligence more in line with humans. On a less honourable note, is the mutant Dark Jedi Gorc, one of Jerec's band of seven Dark Jedi who were looking for the lost Valley of the Jedi.

Gamorreans, in the times of the Mandalorian War, were known to be largely involved with The Exchange and to take innocent beings prisoner and keep them as slaves, taking particular interst in Wookiees. In those times, Gamorreans were considered cruel and merciless monsters.
