Davin Felth was a stormtrooper recruit deployed with the Desert Sands sandtroopers tasked with locating the missing Death Star plans on Tatooine. It was Felth who uncovered evidence that the droids carrying the plans had escaped their crash-landing in the desert.
Commander Terrik led his stormtroopers on a search of the missing droids, first destroying the sandcrawler that had carried them across the desert, then razing the Lars homestead. Over the course of this mission, Felth became increasingly disillusioned with the Empire, and during a laserfight in Docking Bay 94, Felth shot Terrik in the back. Davin claimed his commander had been caught in the crossfire, and though he remained a stormtrooper, Davin Felth resolved to feed information to the Rebel Alliance.
It is believed that Felth sent the Rebels information on the AT-AT, specifically the weakness he had found while on a training mission under Colonel Maximilian Veers during the initial AT-AT projects - the walkers could be easily tripped thanks to their vulnerable long legs. This information served the Alliance well during the evacuation of Hoth.
