Blizzard Force

Blizzard Force was the Imperial ground force commanded by General Veers, which attacked Echo Base on Hoth. It consisted of nine AT-AT walkers, Blizzard 1 through Blizzard 9, several AT-ST walkers, Blizzard Scout 1 to Blizzard Scout 4, and a legion of snowtroopers.

Blizzard Force, under General Veers' direction from the lead walker, Blizzard 1, succeeded in capturing Echo Base despite the loss of Blizzards 6 and 8. Rogue Squadron committed several tactical blunders by attacking the first five Blizzard walkers at close range, the walkers were armed with heavy laser turrets and some of them employed flak blasters to down enemy aircraft. Soon after the Blizzard Force secured the frozen plains, the snowtrooper task force began deploying troops via airmobile tactics. The Rebels where easily overwhelmed by the Blizzard Force Team, some of them surrendered and where taken prisoners while others escaped or proudly fought to the death.

The Battle of Hoth was a stunning victory for the Empire despite the minimum loss of infantry and vehicles. The Rebel Alliance took heavy infantry losses during their escape and also while engaging the Blizzard Force Walkers. The Rebel Alliance was defeated during the Battle of Hoth.
